Carolyn Louise Karge

Carolyn Louise (Ludwig) Karge, age 78, of Etters, died on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. Carolyn was born on Friday, December 6, 1946, in Mechanicsburg to the late Neff Leroy Ludwig and Ruth Edna (Frank) Ludwig.

Carolyn’s survivors include her sister: Connie J. Tritt and husband Leonard, of Carlisle; her niece: Jill L. Weisheit of Camp Hill; her nephew: Randall Tritt and wife Courtney, of Midlothian, VA; her three grandnieces: Carlee E. Weisheit, Sydney A. Tritt, Kailyn R. Tritt.

Carolyn graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1964. She retired from the Pennsylvania State Department of Environmental Protection after many years of service working in the personnel department assisting employees with benefits. She also worked driving the school bus for Cumberland Valley School District for many years. Carolyn had a passion for golf. She was Range End Golf Club Woman’s Club Champion in 2014, 2015, 2016 and was part of the Range End Women’s Golf Team when they won the Women’s York County Amateur Golf Association Team Championship in 2013. Carolyn enjoyed gardening and jigsaw puzzles, especially during the winter when she couldn’t play golf. She was a cat lover who had a compassionate heart and a strong willingness to help others, always prioritizing giving over taking. Carolyn’s greatest joy in life was her family, whom she adored spoiling, particulary her niece, nephew, and grandnieces. She will be missed by those fortunate to be part of her life.

All are welcome to join Carolyn’s family at her viewing on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and her gathering of family and friends on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Carolyn’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the service. Burial will follow the reception in Longsdorf Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.
