In Loving Memory
Carolyn Ruth Stephens King was born in Durant, Oklahoma on December 16, 1942 to Paskle and Myrtle Stephens. She passed away on July 30, 2025 at the age of 82.
Carolyn grew up in a large family being one of eleven children. Her love for them was unmeasurable.
Carolyn met and fell in love with Richard King at Durant High School. They married on June 8, 1958 and were together for 66 years when Richard passed away on December 29, 2024.
Carolyn was a devoted wife and mother. She was primarily a housewife but so much more to her family. She was well known in Joshua as a skilled seamstress working from her home on Eddy Street. She also had worked at Mott's on Main Street. Carolyn enjoyed country and gospel music; especially the hymns she sang at First Baptist.
Carolyn is survived by her three children and their families:
Carol Hall and husband Jerry; children Nicole and Daniel Whitehead, Mark and Desiree Wylie, Daniel and Chelsi Wylie.
Dale King and wife Lena;
children Wesley King and Jordan King.
Toni Lee and husband Tommy;
children Katrina and Tony Chavez, Zack Haley and Brande Tyler, Chris Haley and Jessica Blanco.
She was blessed with great-grandchildren: Asya and Trey Russek , Ethan and Morgan Whitehead, Ethan and Chloe Bless, Brookelyn Wylie, Lucas Wylie, Adah Wylie; Jaxson Wylie, Vivienne Wylie, Leighton Wylie; Lilly King, Hezekiah King, Josiah King, Asher King; Matthew Chavez, Johnathan Chavez, Joshua Chavez, Natalie Chavez, Brylie Pytel, Ryland Haley, Skyler Haley, Cryton Haley, Brynlie Haley, Jazmin Aguilar, Giovanni Blanco, Ty Navarro, Sterling Navarro, and Ivy Haley. Great-
great-grandchildren: Quade Russek, River Russek and Melody Whitehead.
Carolyn's surviving siblings:
Brothers: Carl and Joann Stephens, Robert and Dorthy Stephens
Sisters: Robbie Nelson, Sharon and Ricky Pruitt, Donna St. Claire, and Glenda Meadors. Sister in laws: Gloria Stephens and Katy Stephens. Numerous nephews and nieces.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Paskle and Myrtle Stephens; beloved husband Richard King; brothers, James Stephens and Don Stephens; sisters, Kaye Hedrick, Lillie Hobbs; and brother in laws Wayne Hedrick, Ray Hobbs, and Tony Nelson.
She will be deeply missed, always remembered and forever loved.
