Carolyn Frances Lonergan

Carolyn Frances Hoth Lonergan, 87, of Shelbyville, KY passed away on October 31, 2025 in Shelbyville. Born in Chicago, IL on December 15, 1937, she'd lived in Shelbyville for 18 years.

While working as a secretary for the St. Petersburg, FL police department, Carolyn met her husband Ralph Lonergan, Sr. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to North Cape May, NJ. Carolyn had worked in various retail positions in southern New Jersey and enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and doing jigsaw puzzles.

In addition to her husband Ralph Lonergan, Sr., Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, LaVerne, Eleanor, and Lorraine.

She is survived by her two sons, Jeff Lange (Karen) of Shelbyville, and Timothy Lange (Gina) of Villas, NJ, three stepsons, Ralph Lonergan, Jr. (Betty) of North Cape May, NJ, Timothy Lonergan (Maureen) of Cordes Lakes, AZ, Stephen Lonergan of Poconos, PA, stepdaughter Barbara Glennon (Pat) of Henderson, NV, and her brother William Hoth of Lake Villa, IL. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

Carolyn's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Shelby Farms Memory Care Staff and Hosparus of Kentucky for their kind care and assistance during Carolyn's stay at Shelby Farms.
