Carolyn McDaniel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Inc on Jan. 15, 2026.
Carolyn Jean McDaniel, a longtime resident of the Holdenville and Seminole areas, passed away in Frisco, Texas on January 13th, 2026.
Carolyn was a 1960 graduate of Holdenville High School and attended Oklahoma City University. She had a forty-year career in health care, beginning as a medical transcriptionist at Holdenville General Hospital. Her career culminated in serving as the Administrator of Wetumka General Hospital for several years. Access to rural health care was her passion, and she worked many years in its pursuit.
Carolyn is survived by her two children and their spouses: her son, Aubie, and daughter-in-law, Jackie Keesee, of Wetumka, OK, and grandchildren Gage, Tate, and Tara; her daughter, Susan Jackson, and son-in-law, Robert Jackson, of Frisco, TX, and granddaughters Aryn and husband Eli Sterbcow, Addyson Jackson and Ainsley Jackson. She shared a special bond with her sister, Linda Hampton, of Seminole, OK, her nephews, nieces, and their families. She cherished her family and being a Nana most of all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas McDaniel, and her parents, John and Winona Brown.
Carolyn was a longtime active member of the United Methodist Churches in Holdenville and Seminole, serving as a Sunday school teacher, a member of women's groups, and on various committees.
Carolyn will be well remembered for her kindness and concern for others. She loved searching for the perfect antiques to add to her collection, particularly anything beach-related. She was blessed by her lifelong friendships.
Pallbearers will be Eric Elliott, Randal Hallum, Mark Hallum, Cory Hallum, Ryan Hallum, and Robert Jackson.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan 17th and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday Jan 18th at Hudson Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville.
Family will greet guests from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2025 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Services will be held at Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church in Holdenville, Oklahoma, at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2026 with Pastor Mark Watson officiating.
Memorials in her honor are welcome at the Ronald McDonald House of Oklahoma City.
Services are under the care of Hudson Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
