Ms. Carolyn Ann Moore also known as Peat was born in Pompano Beach, FL., on October 14, 1956. She departed this earthly world on April 01, 2025, at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Peat was raised in Fairmont, NC and attended the public schools of Robeson County. She later earned her GED from Robeson Community College. She worked in the Textile and Agriculture Industry for many years. She loved to dance and sing, she had a beautiful voice, she loved spending time and playing card games with her grandchildren. Peat loved her nieces and nephews as her own and some of them called her Grandma Peat. Her house was the go-to spot for the Grands, nieces and nephews to hang out at on most weekends. She was an excellent baker of homemade biscuits and everyone in the family would call her to baked them a pan. Her special niece would request a pot of turnips and dumplings. Peat was proud to say she was the oldest of the siblings and that they had to obey her, the sisters would aggravate her so that she would say she's going to get her belt out. Peat will be remembered as the apple of her father's eye (the late James Addison) and he spoiled her rotten and she was his twin.
Peat is survived by her sons Toby Addison and Mitchell Addison both of Fairmont, NC, 4 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, 3 ½ great grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memories three sisters Jacquelyn "Von" McCrimmon, Wanda "Duck" Addison both of Fairmont, NC, Cheryl "Shell" Locklear (Timothy) of Raleigh, NC, a Stepbrother Eddie Johnson of Conyers Georgia, Two Aunts Sally Lidge and Edna Lidge of Dillon, SC, three sisters-in-law Bessie Thompson, Patricia Moore and Antoinette Moore, all of Fairmont, North Carolina and Donald Moore of Fairmont, North Carolina, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousin and Friends.
