Mrs. Oliver passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025. Born on April 5, 1938, in Daviston, Alabama to Grover Harris and Eupora Meigs Harris, Carolyn's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, her dedication to her loved ones, and her commitment to her profession.

Carolyn's career as a bookkeeper in the banking industry spanned many years, during which she earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues for her meticulousness and integrity. Her professional life was paralleled by an active involvement in the Penton Church of God, where she was a devoted member. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and interactions with those around her.

In her spare time, Carolyn found solace and joy in the pages of books, where she traveled to worlds far and wide through the power of storytelling. Her love for reading was only matched by her love for her family. Upon retiring, Carolyn dedicated herself to creating lasting memories with her family and friends. She was the matriarch of a loving family, revered as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her guidance and love shaped the lives of her descendants, leaving a legacy that will be cherished for generations to come.

Carolyn's life was a tapestry of moments filled with laughter, kindness, and grace. Her presence was a comfort to all who knew her, and her absence will be deeply felt. As we bid farewell to Carolyn Oliver, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey completed, and a soul that has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.

The family of Mrs. Carolyn Oliver wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the community of Penton for their support and companionship throughout Carolyn's life. Her spirit will forever be a guiding light to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. As we honor her memory, we take solace in the knowledge that her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift us all.

She is survived by her children, Diane (David) White of Lafayette, Donna (Jackson) Hatton of Alexander City, Douglas (Janice) Oliver of Roanoke, and Danita (Curt) Sims of Lanett; grandchildren, Jeremy Cofield, Terri (Heath) Spann, Candice (Phil) Tranqui, Blake (Ashton) Coker, Amanda (Ryan) Thorn, Kala Elliott, and Kari Sims; 16 great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
