Carolyn Procaccini Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial on Feb. 18, 2026.
Carolyn Procaccini, 77, of Summit, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026, after a short battle with cancer.

Born and raised in Summit, Carolyn was a lifelong member of the community she loved. She dedicated over 35 years of her life to working at Summit High School, where she built lasting relationships and left a meaningful impact on generations of students and staff.

Carolyn was the definition of selfless, strong, and full of life. She had a sharp sense of humor, a tough spirit, and a way of making people feel instantly welcome. She was rarely one to sit still - she loved being out, surrounded by people, laughter, and the energy of life. Above all else, she loved her family and friends.

Some of her happiest moments were spent at the Jersey Shore - her favorite place. Whether it was time at her brother David's home, or visits to Wildwood Crest, Cape May, or Point Pleasant, the beach was where she felt most at peace, and at home.

She cherished family dinners, time with her friends, children, and grandchildren, and the simple joy of being together. Carolyn is survived by her sons, Mark and Patrick, and her five beloved grandchildren: Cole, Camryn, Carsen, Dylan, and Jake.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pasquale.

Carolyn also shared an extraordinary bond with her lifelong best friend, Annette Pantano. For more than 45 years, they were inseparable - family in every sense of the word.

Carolyn will be remembered for her warmth, her strength, her humor, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In accordance with her wishes, Carolyn will be cremated and private services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carolyn's memory to Center for Hope Hospice & Palliative Care in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, whose compassionate care brought comfort to her and her family in her final days. Please visit https://cfhh.org/donate/
