Carolyn Sue "Susie" Pyle, age 88, of Upland and formerly of Swayzee, passed away peacefully at 7:40 am on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at University Nursing Center in Upland.
Born on November 23, 1936, in Swayzee, Indiana, she was the daughter of Lester and Essa (Vance) Pyle. Susie graduated from Swayzee High School and later attended Marion Cosmetology School, where she pursued her passion for hairstyling. She owned and operated Susie's Beauty Shop, where she brought joy to many through her craft.
Susie had a vibrant spirit and enjoyed attending the Rose Festival in Richmond. She loved playing board games and cherished the companionship of her beloved poodle, Fifi.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Myrna Pyle; nieces, Katrina (Dennis) Messersmith and Angela Purvis, both of Marion; nephews, Terry Berger, Matthew (Laura) Berger, Paul (Bonnie) Pyle, David (Sue) Pyle, Mark (Wendy) Pyle, and Rodger "Rodney" (Arlene) Pyle; niece, Julie (Tim Rayle) Pyle; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Essa Pyle; brothers, Roger Pyle and Vance Pyle; sister, Patricia Jean Berger; nieces, Sandy Berger and Terry May; and nephew, Damon Pyle.
In accordance with the family's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
