Carolyn Mae Redeemer, age 78, passed away on October 29, 2024 at her home in Kermit, TX. She was born on January 9, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa to Gerthola Webster and George Carr Jr.
Carolyn was a loving and caring person. She was the second mother to her siblings. She had a love for teaching children that led to a career in childcare. Carolyn was known for her love of watching sports, especially her Pittsburg Steelers. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and fishing. Carolyn was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was lovingly called, "Grammy" or "Granny" by her family. Her love and care will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her father: Eugene Carr; mother: Gerthola Lee; son-in-law: Joe Parrish Jr.; brother: Dennis Carr; and great-grandchild: Saynt Ashley.
Carolyn is survived by her sons: William Carr and wife Corrine Gibson of Hot Spring, AR; Wesumba Redeemer of Kermit, TX; daughters: Odessa Houston of Kermit, TX; Vannessa Parrish of Princeton, TX; Leslee Carr-Henegan and husband Alfred of Denver, CO: Jan Carr of Denver, CO; brothers: Lawren Carr of Denver, CO; Bari Carr of Mason City, IA; Richard Lee of Denver CO; James Lee and wife Laura of Minneapolis, MN; Gentry Carr and wife Karen of West Chaplin, FL; Edward Carr of Des Moines, IA; Eugene Carr Jr. of Des Moines, IA; William Carr of Des Moines, IA; sisters: Mary Woolery of Sierra Vista, AZ; Florence Carr of Denver, CO; Donna Knifner of Des Moines, IA; Tiffany Stevens and husband Derrick of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren: Osric, Courtney, Creslie, Octavia, Jenise, Dion, Trenise, Carolyn, Javae, Caleb, Jeffrey; and 20 great-great grandchildren.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
