Carolyn S. Sorg, a cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on August 16th, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in the quaint town of Seymour, Indiana, on May 26, 1946, Carolyn lived a life rich in service, love, and adventure.

Carolyn was a dedicated newspaper delivery person for the Courier-Journal, a role she honorably fulfilled for over 40 years. Her commitment and reliability in ensuring her community stayed informed were unparalleled. Carolyn also served tirelessly at the Medical Society in Louisville, Kentucky. Her passion for photography led her to capture moments for the Evening News and Tribune, providing a visual lens on local stories and events. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly through her work as a real estate broker and an Indiana insurance license holder, along with her role as an expediter for Kingsford Charcoal.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Carolyn was a kind-hearted and devoted animal lover. An active member of the Humane Society, she was known for her tireless efforts in animal rescue, once bringing home an injured deer and even a duck in need. Her compassion for all creatures great and small was evident to all who knew her.

Carolyn's most cherished moments were those spent with her family, particularly her beloved grandchildren, with whom she shared her zest for life. Her family was her pride and joy.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Sorg, by her children, Debby Mellon (Fred), David Sorg, Donna Beaver (Brent), and Julie Adams (Thad). Carolyn is also survived by her brother, Jesse Spurgin (Terry), who shared many memories and adventures with her over the years. Carolyn also leaves her 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews to cherish her wonderful legacy.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Spurgin and Jean Reed, and her brother, Leo Spurgin. The legacy Carolyn leaves behind is one of compassion, dedication, and an unwavering love for her family and community.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 29, 2025 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church with interment to follow at Silver Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Friday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the procession to the church.
