Carolyn Ann Stewart

Carolyn H. Stewart, surrounded by family, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the age of 83. Born and reared in New Orleans, LA., on January 2, 1942, to the union of the late Bertha and William Horn Sr. Carolyn was the 2nd child of eleven. She worked for the Bon Ton Restaurant for over 30 years before retiring. She is survived by her children Antoinette, James Jr., Avris Stewart, Denise (Gerald) Youngblood Sr., Cheryl and Dione Stewart, 18 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Her siblings, Ernie Horn, Lena (Phillip) Clay, Brenda (Nathan) Clavo, Gail Stewart, Nathalie (Kirk) Simmons, Rosalie and Donald Horn, a devoted cousin Janice Pauline, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Proceeded in death by her parents Bertha and William Horn Sr., son Troy Stewart, siblings; William Horn Jr, Raymond Ambrose Sr., Patricia Irvin, sister-in-law; Joyce Ambrose, brother-in-law; Cedric Stewart, Aunties Rosalie Holmes and Lucy Mae Pauline. Relatives and friends of the family, LSUHSC, SLA Management, Caesar's Casino, Tulane and East Jefferson Hospitals, and the Marriott Hotel are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Friday, August 15, 2025, for 10:00 a.m. at Gentilly Baptist Church, 5141 Franklin Ave., New Orleans, LA 70122. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Pastor Tyrone Smith, officiating. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery, Metairie, LA.
