Carolyn Jean Verkler, 78 years old, passed away at 12:36 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at her home in Walkerton, IN. Carolyn was born in Plymouth, IN on August 10, 1946 to the late Ralph and Willa (Brechtel) Cohee. She lived in North Liberty and Walkerton most of her life. On August 31, 1968 in North Liberty, Carolyn and Randolph L. Verkler were united in marriage. Randy preceded her in death on December 15, 2011. Carolyn was also preceded in death by her son, Bryan Scott Verkler on December 13, 2003; and her brother, Phill Cohee.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Brett L. Verkler of Walkerton; granddaughter, Kendalle Elizabeth Verkler; daughter-in-law, Juli Lynn Verkler; two sisters, Glenice (Jim) Bolze of Walkerton and Janet (the late Gary) Hall of Lakeville; and her brother, Gary (Sherry) Cohee of Florida.
Carolyn worked at the John Glenn School Corporation where she was very active especially with her granddaughter's sporting events. Most recently she was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and flowers. She also enjoyed going to the mall with Kendalle to visit the Build-A-Bear store and going to Mackinaw Island for summer vacation.
There will be no services or visitation. Palmer Funeral Home-North Liberty Chapel is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Carolyn J. Verkler may be donated to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163.
