Chad William McCloughan

Chad William McCloughan, the world lost a beautiful soul on July 15, 2025. He was a cherished son, fiancé, brother, uncle and friend. Born on March 21, 1978 and at the age of 47, we look back and thank God for the wonderful times we had together.
Chad was an adventurer with a love for the outdoors from snowboarding, skiing, bike trips, kayaking, boating, swimming, camping, golfing, and parachuting from airplanes. He shared these experiences with all, including his love for sports events especially the Notre Dame basketball, football and hockey games. He loved to take his nephews out on the slopes snowboarding and attend gatherings with all his family and friends. Chad was a hard-worker and put his "all" into everything. He was courageous, brave, loyal and supporting.
Chad is survived by his mother, Kathleen Doyle and his stepfather, Michael Doyle of South Bend, IN; fiancé, Jona Sweany of Mishawaka, IN; sisters, Shea McCloughan, of South Bend, IN, Carrie Thoma (Aric) of Mishawaka, IN, Lynn Doyle Clark (Tyler) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Kristin Harris (Nathaniel) of Wakarusa, IN; brothers, Benjamin Doyle of Utah and Shannon Doyle of Pennsylvania. Also, Oliver and Kitty, his two cats who he referred to as his children. He is predeceased by his father, William and his sister, Erin Thompson.
Chad's role as an uncle brought him immeasurable joy. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews; Taiylor, Zackery, Riley Horn, Emma and Morgan Thoma, Elizabeth, Ethan, and Evan Harris, and Orion Clark, and great-nieces and nephews Wrenlee Hapner, Journey Branden, Maverick, and Clayton Houk.
A visitation will be held 4pm-7pm Friday, July 18, 2025 at Palmer Funeral Home ~ Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635.
