Carolyn Wheeler Obituary
Mrs. Wheeler was born in Atlanta, GA, on October 11, 1939, daughter of the late Marcus Peek McDowell and the late Magalene Grogan McDowell. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Bobby Duel Wheeler. Mrs. Wheeler was a graduate of Rockmart high School. She retired from the Floyd County School System after numerous years working in the Library at Cave Spring School. Mrs. Wheeler loved to read whenever she could and enjoyed getting her hair fixed every week. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and would do anything and everything she could for them. Above all she loved her Lord and Saviors, Jesus Christ. Mrs. Wheeler was a faithful member of Mountain Home Baptist Church and is now rejoicing in the Lord's presence for eternity.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Couch (Wayne), Cave Spring; 4 grandchildren, Raven Hatch, Kayne Wheeler Couch, Ginny Gresham, and Lynleigh Couch; a sister, Angie Cody (Bill); a niece and 2 nephews, Anna Cody, John Cody and Mark Cody.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Wednesday, October 29, at Mountain Home Baptist Church, with her pastor, Anthony Trawick, officiating. Interment will follow in Cave Spring Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1pm until service time at Mountain Home Baptist Church.
Pallbearers are to assemble by 2:30pm on Wednesday at Mountain Home Baptist Church and include: Kayne Couch, John Cody, Mark Cody, Brent Wheeler, Jeff Wheeler, Kyle Wheeler, and Keith Vaughn.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Mountain Home Baptist Church, 165 Mountain Home Loop, Cedartown, GA, 30125
