Carolyn Janette Whetstine, 78, of McConnells,SC passed away peacefully at home August, 6th, 2023. Carolyn, known to many as Carol, was born July 6, 1945 in Charlotte, NC. Carol was a faithful servant of our Lord God. She was married to Donald "Steve" Whetstine for 35 years, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
Carol worked at Lance Corp from 1981-1994. She loved crocheting and crafting. She was an avid reader and loved to do word puzzles. Another thing she found enjoyment in was baking for friends and family.
She is survived by her husband Steve Whetstine, and her children Kevin Walley (Melissa), Greenville SC, Stephanie Whetstine, Fort Mill, SC, Leslie Whetstine Kennington (Steve),Charlotte NC and Matthew Whetstine (Kimberly), Rock Hill, SC. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Haley Walley, Trey Whetstine, Madison Kennington, Hunter Kennington, Reagan Kennington, Maddox Whetstine, and Kinsley Whetstine; and one great-grandchild, Braeleigh Whetstine. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Carol is also survived by her special sister-in-law Thelma Whitman of Easley, SC.
Carol is the daughter to the late Claude Henry Whitman and Thelma Mae Johnson Whitman. She was the last of six siblings. She is predeceased by her brothers Wesley Masters, Charles Whitman, Vernon Whitman, Ray "Donald" Whitman and one sister Beverly Whitman Craig.
The Family would like to give special thanks to Providence Care Hospice of Rock Hill, SC and all the volunteers, nurses and chaplain, especially Tracey Mobley and her assistance. They would also like to thank Lavine Whetstine Burnett for all her help and care these past months.
