Carolyn Sue (Koontz) Willhoite, 91, of Adams Township, passed away peacefully at home on July 23, 2025, following an extended illness. She was born on June 28, 1934, in Monroe County, Indiana, the daughter of Rufus and Lorene (Stillions) Koontz. Carolyn was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, James Willhoite, in 2020. She is survived by their four daughters, Angela (Dan) Sweet, Christine Funkhouser, Sharon (Greg) Melton, and Sheila Barton. Additionally, she leaves behind seven adoring grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Bob (Nancy) Koontz; sisters, Shirley Eller and Phyllis Douthitt; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special "adopted" son, Jeff (Abbe) Bronnenberg. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; son-in-law, Daniel Barton; brothers-in-law, Denny Douthitt and Charles Eller and nephew, Steven Eller. Carolyn spent a lifetime raising a family, running the family farm and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her memories of Monroe County and the family and friends she grew up with were very special to her. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson, Indiana. Funeral services will follow visitation at 1:00 pm on Saturday with Pastor Jerry Hilligoss officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Mechanicsburg Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Florida Station Church of God Mission (Sonshine Girls). www.LooseCares.com
