Funeral Service at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, Monday, November 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Interment in the Temple, Cemetery, Temple, OK.

Carolyn Sue (Norton) Wyatt was born to Odis Omer and Wanda Lee (Mapp) Norton on April 1, 1948 at Ardmore, OK and departed this life at her home in Temple, OK on November 4, 2025 at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 3 days. Surrounded by her family.

Sue grew up in the Ardmore area until moving to Temple and attended Temple Public Schools through high school.

Already with two sons and soon to gain a son and daughter, Sue married Joel Mack Wyatt on March 8, 1973 in Madill, and to this union 2 daughters were born. The family lived in Madill until moving to Temple, OK in 1978. She was a consummate homemaker, and also cooked for the Cotton County Jail several years while Joel was the undersheriff. She also worked at McDonald’s on the turnpike for a time.

She loved to cook for the family and others. She made it to band trips and all her kids sporting events and took food to feed the team. She was always for her kids and had their backs. She loved spending time with her grandkids and just visiting with them. She and Joel couldn’t be beat playing cards and they would often leave love notes to each other around the house. She loved stopping for a Frappé at McDonalds. Sue was a member of First Baptist Church, Temple, and more recently has enjoyed attending First Presbyterian Church in Lawton.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joel Wyatt on September 5, 2025; her parents, Odis and Wanda Norton; and her sister, Brenda Yarbrough.

Survivors include 6 kids, Joel Wyatt and Charlene of Dallas, TX, Donna Moore of Walters, Charles Holybee and Casey of Medicine Park, OK, David Roberts and Amy of Walters, Michelle Kohout and Greg of Walters, and Donna Sue Cook of Temple; 17 grandchildren, Amanda, Joel III, Christopher, Cecilee, T.J., Cassadie, Caylie, Kari, Katy, Kayla, Dillon, Shelby, Nathan, Ashley, Samantha, Richard and Carolyn; 16 great grandchildren and one on the way, 4 great-great grandchildren; her brothers, Odis Lee Norton of Lawton, Mike and Sharon Norton of Temple; other relatives and friends.
