Carolyn Ann Zehner- Harrell, age 84 of Leesburg, passed away in Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 5:50 a.m.
Born in Muncie on August 24, 1938, she was the daughter of Virgil and Reba (Coulter) Gooding. Blessed to find love twice, Carolyn was married to Hubert Zehner. They shared many happy years before his passing in 1983. She was later married to Dwight Harrell, sharing in life before his passing in 2005.
She grew-up in the Muncie area, graduating from Muncie High School. Later, Carolyn moved to Kosciusko County where she was a member of Menzie-Reece American Legion Post 258 – Auxiliary, Pierceton, IN and volunteered at the Pierceton Senior Building for over 10 years. She attended Pierceton Baptist Church for several years, and Morris Chapel Church after she moved.
Carolyn loved her family dearly. She enjoyed a good crossword and putting together puzzles. The family remembers her for sewing clothing for them while growing up. She also made many projects - crocheting, quilting, knitting, and making macrame’.
She is survived by seven children Ellen (Justin) Shoemaker of Leesburg, Debbie (Dennis) Lawson of Talbert, TN, Brenda (Vern) Nelson, of Mount Orab Village, OH, Randy Miller of Springfield, OH, Sandy (Rick) Dawson of Kingman, Karen (Ron) Morehouse of Lafayette, and Judy (Rick) Birtles of Mio, MI. She is further survived by 14 Grandchildren; 25 Great Grandchildren and three siblings: John Gooding, Jay (Gloria) Gooding and Jerry Gooding. She was preceded in passing by both of her husbands; parents, son Allen Zehner and three siblings: Jack Gooding, Edwin Gooding and Marcia Jackson.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services of 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw is entrusted with Carolyn’s care. Friends and family may gather there on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 2 to 5:00 p.m. At 5 o’clock, Pastor Steve Newkirk will officiate Carolyn’s Life Celebration Service.
