Daniel W. Lackey, 65 of Claypool went to our Lord and Savior on Saturday August 30, 2025 at Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne. He was born on February 6, 1960 to Robert W. and Norma Lou (Freeman) Lackey in Warsaw.
Dan was united in marriage to Deborah Boggs on September 7, 1985 in Statesville, Nc. They would have been married for 40 years on September 7, 2025.
Dan was born in Indiana then moved to North Carolina when he was 21, where he met his lovely wife to be, Debbie Boggs. Starting with their family in North Carolina, they moved to Claypool in 1988. Dan was working for Zimmer in Statesville North Carolina as a supervisor then as a Polisher and Machinist for Zimmer in Warsaw. He is currently working for Nuell Inc., Leesburg as a supervisor, he has been with them for at least 15 years. He has always considered them as “his work family”
Dan enjoys reading the bible and sharing his Faith and knowledge with family and friends. He fixed anything you could send his way. He loved to tinker. He loved to watch science fiction movies and gunsmithing, working on computer (he was known as the “computer nerd”) he was a jack of all trades. Mosty of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Dan was a wonderful father, loving and adoring husband. He loved his family and devoted himself to everyone’s happiness. His sense of humor and laughter would brighten any room. He touched so many lives with his generosity.
Daniel is survived by his wife Debbie of Claypool, and his Children, Marcus R. (Katrina) Lackey, Fort Wayne; Jeramie W. Lackey, Leesburg; Jennifer R. Lackey-Taylor, Warsaw. His brothers and sisters, Charlene Lackey, Mentone, Mike (Lynn) Lackey, Warsaw; Dewey (Dee) Lackey, FL, Kathy Cutler, Warsaw and Jane Lackey, Akron, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Montey Lackey and sister Peggy Marsollett
A Visitation will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw on Thursday September 4, 2025 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow immediately the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Larry Burkhart will be officiating.
Burial will be in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone, In.
Memorial contributions may be made to McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel to help in assisting the family with Burial Expenses
