Vicki Elizabeth Lackey

Vicki Elizabeth Lackey was born on September 23, 1946, in Seattle, Washington, and passed away on January 28, 2026, at the age of 79.

Vicki grew up in Lake Oswego, Oregon, alongside her sisters Andrea and Barbara. She spent much of her youth around the water, especially at family homes on Lake Steilacoom in Tacoma and later in Lake Oswego. She loved being on the lake and took pride in being a skilled and confident driver of water skiers, bringing joy and laughter to many summer days shared with family and friends.

She later pursued a career in fashion and retail merchandising before making her home in Salem, where she raised her family and built a close-knit circle of friends that remained important to her throughout her life. She valued connection and community and devoted much of her time and energy to bringing people together.

Vicki and her husband, David, completed their family when they welcomed their daughter, Jennifer, in 1982. Vicki was a loving and involved mother, and her role as a parent was central to her life.

Vicki was known for her love of hosting friends and family, planning gatherings, and baking. She had a bright, warm smile and especially enjoyed the social rhythms of holidays, celebrations, and shared meals.

Vicki volunteered extensively with the Boys and Girls Aid Society and the Assistance League of Salem-Keizer, giving her time to organizations rooted in service and community.

Vicki is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, David Lackey; her daughter, Jennifer LaPier; and her sister, Barbara Berg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Betty Johnson, and her sister, Andrea Foss.

A memorial service celebrating Vicki’s life will be held on February 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Wilsonville Funeral Home in Wilsonville, Oregon.

She will be remembered for her warmth, her hospitality, and the care she showed for family, friends, and community.
