James Allen (Jim) Lea died at his home on November 5, 2025. He was 80 years old.

Jim was born on August 24, 1945. He was proud to be a native Oregonian. He was born at Emanuel Hospital, attended Laurelhurst grade school, Grant High School, Portland State University, and Oregon Health Sciences University.

Upon completing his medical internship Jim established his solo medical practice in West Linn where he spent the next 20 years. He and his first wife raised their three children. Jim was known for his passionate immersion in his hobbies which included camping, fishing (and making his own fishing poles), black powder pistols, and boating.

In 1998 Jim left his private practice, became board-certified in the field of Addiction Medicine, and began working at a local treatment center. That same year he married his second wife. He also took up a new hobby - photography - which became a passion for many years.

Upon retirement, Jim and Jeannie took up RV-ing and spent weeks traveling around Oregon and other western states. Eventually they moved to the coastal town of Bandon where they lived for nine years. When Jim's health declined, they returned to Wilsonville.

With the support of family, friends, and Legacy Hospice, Jim died at home. He is survived by his wife Jeannie: sisters Virginia and Margaret: daughter Chris and granddaughters Haley and Maya: son Jesse, his wife Megan, and grandsons Harper and Quincy: son John, his wife Kelly, and grandson Maddix.

A private family gathering of remembrance will be held later this year.

If you wish to remember Jim, please consider a donation to Legacy Hospice (P.O.Box 3426, Portland, OR, 97208).
