Carrie Rice Barger, age 48, of Northport, Alabama, passed away January 11, 2024, at her residence. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2024, at Northport Baptist Church with Bro. John Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Phillips Chapel Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel North directing. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Monday at Northport Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Clay Rice, Sr.; grandparents, William Clayton and Marjoe Rice and Lindbergh Traweek.
Survivors include her husband, James C. Barger, Jr.; daughters, Emma Vaughn (Austin) and Lily Barger; sister, Karla Gant (Greg); brother, Clay Rice (Amanda); mother, Lindie Rice; grandmother, Joyce Maxey (Luther); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carrie was a devoted wife and mother, cherished daughter, precious sister, and beloved aunt. She was an active member of Northport Baptist Church where she loved teaching her middle school girls Sunday school class for the past 12 years. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from The University of South Alabama and was employed by Amedisys Home Health Care as a physical therapist for 19 years.
Pallbearers will be Clay Rice, Clayton Rice, Bill Rice, Greg Gant, Joe Gibson, Keith Hudson, Stephen Franklin and Nathan Hannah.
