Carol LeCroy Brewer, 77, passed away on February 9, 2026, in Mobile, Alabama. Born on June 3, 1948, Carol was a devoted educator and cherished member of the Mobile community.
Carol graduated from Tuscaloosa High School, subsequently earning bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of South Alabama. Her passion for education was evident throughout her career as a speech teacher from 1975-76 and later as a special education teacher from 1991 until her retirement in 2008, both at Mobile County Public Schools.
A loving and kind person, Carol was deeply involved in genealogy, cherishing the opportunity to connect with her roots and learn more about her heritage. She was a member of Luke 4:18, where she embraced her community and faith.
Carol is survived by her spouse, James (Jim) Brewer; daughter, Leigh Dedrick (Walter); son, Wesley Brewer (Jane); and brother Earl LeCroy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy E. LeCroy and Lillian Sellers LeCroy; brother, Jerry LeCroy; and sister, Faye Ashworth.
Her family would like to thank the nurses, aides, social worker, and chaplain of Gentiva Hospice. We would also like to thank Paula Stewart and her staff at Gentle Love and Care for their devotion to Carol during her final months.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carol's memory may be made to the Area Agency on Aging. Carol's legacy will continue to influence and inspire, remembered fondly by all who knew her.
