Nancy Louise McKnight Craddock, a resident of Mobile, Alabama and a native of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, at the age of 85.
Nancy was overflowing with joy, laughter, and a radiant spirit that filled every room she entered. Playful and full of life, she loved games, wore whimsical character slippers, and built a treasured Coca-Cola collection over 58 years. Her positivity and encouragement were constant gifts to all who knew her.
A devoted member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church, Nancy faithfully served in the choir for many years. She loved to sing and brought laughter and fun to choir trips and church gatherings. Her relationship with Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life evident in her kindness, generosity, and unwavering encouragement.
Nancy shared more than 65 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Carlton Glynn Craddock, who preceded her in death in 2024. Together, they built a Christ-centered home grounded in faith, humility, and service. Glynn often said, "Put God first, family second, and everything else will fall into place," and Nancy lived those words daily. United in their love for Christ, they served faithfully at Cottage Hill Baptist Church and lived simply so they could give generously.
As a child, Nancy dreamed of becoming a chef. Though she never pursued it professionally, she fulfilled that calling through her kitchen. If you knew Nancy, you likely received cookies, treats, or snacks not just at Christmas, but all year long. For decades, she expressed love through baking, faithfully nourishing family and friends with joy.
She leaves behind her son, Carl (Ginger) Craddock of Austin, Texas; her daughter, Cristy Athey of Mobile, Alabama; four grandchildren Amber (Christopher) Pappas, Aaron (Lauren) Craddock, Alex Kirk, and Abby (Ryan) Kirk Brazelton and ten great-grandchildren who were her delight.
Nancy will be remembered for her joyful heart, servant's spirit, steadfast faith, and generous love. Her life was a testimony to putting Christ first, loving family well, and giving freely.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
