Carrie Michele Barton

Carrie Michele (Hare) Barton, 65, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville.
Carrie was born in Evansville, Indiana on August 16, 1960 to James "Jim" and Gloria (Merriman) Hare. She was an 1978 graduate of North High School. In her younger years, Carrie enjoyed writing poetry. She was a faithful member of The Connection Church. Carrie loved traveling to Gatlinburg and going to Iowa to visit her sister and family. Of all the holidays, Christmas and Thanksgiving were her absolute favorites. She adored her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. Carrie will be remembered by her great sense of humor, huge heart and her way of making people feel loved.
Carrie is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Michael "Mike" Allen Barton of Evansville, IN; daughters, Tiffany Suzanne Hendrix (George) of Bargersville, IN; son, Aaron Barton (Sarah Chilton) of Metamora, IN; her father, James "Jim" Hare of Evansville, IN; sisters, Kelly Carter (Wayne) of Sioux City, IA and Bonnie Verdugo of Utah; grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Hendrix and Jameson Reed Barton; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Carrie was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria (Merriman) Hare.
A celebration of Carrie's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Darrell Rice officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 10:00 am until service time on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home.
