Carrie Melissa Hazelton of Jewett, passed away on September 6, 2024, at the age of 62.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held 1 P.M., Friday, October 4, 2024, at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Pastor Johnny Veretto will officiate the service.
Carrie was born on July 11, 1962, in Pell City, Alabama to Jake Robert Truitt and Nettie Louise Truitt. She married Durwin Lee Hazelton August 18, 1979. Carrie was a wonderful woman. Her memory will live on through many people. Her love and kindness touched so many. We will not ever forget the happiness she was always willing to pass along. Even though she and Durwin only had three children, she was a mother figure and role model to every child she met. Her contagious smile and silly stories will be greatly missed. Carrie was a hard working woman. She also loved her flowers.
Carrie was preceded in death by her father, Jake Robert Truitt and siblings, Richard Keith Truitt, Billy Ray Truitt, and Wanda Kay Truitt.
She is survived by her husband, Durwin Lee Hazelton of Jewett; mother, Nettie Louise Truitt of Brazoria; brother, Dennis Earl Truitt of Brazoria; sons, Dustin Ray Hazelton of Kennard and Jonathon Wayne Hazelton of Hamilton; and daughter, Tiffany Ann Harrell of Buffalo.
