Carrie Leach

Carrie E. Leach, 52, of Elgin, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025. Born September 23, 1972, in Lynchburg, VA, the daughter of Rev. Richard and Darleen (Hogston) Burkett. She was a graduate of Guilford High School, Class of 1990 and received her Associates Degree from Rock Valley College. Carrie married Donald P. Leach, Jr. on March 13, 1999. She worked as a supervisor for Advance Refrigeration's customer service team. Carrie enjoyed photography, DIY projects in interior design and architecture and was a collector of things she held dear. Most of all, Carrie loved her kids with her whole heart and was passionate about her faith and love for Jesus.

Survived by her husband, Don; children, Maggie Elizabeth and Dillon Ezekiel; father, Rev. Richard (Ellen); brother, Derek Andrew (Kat) Burkett; father & mother-in-law, Donald and Nancy Leach; brother-in-law, Brian (Janette) Leach; sister-in-law, Deb (Ken) King; nieces and nephews, Jack & Alex Burkett, Cody & Damon Leach and Caden, Colten, and Jessa King; uncles, Bud (Vonda) Burkett and Jerry (Caryn) Burkett; and aunts, Linda Bowser, Linda (Mike) Dutcher and Shirley Hogston. Predeceased by her mother, Darleen; and uncle, Robert Burkett.
