Carrie Montgomery, age 80, of Fleetwood, Alabama, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025, at UAB West. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with burial to follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Tony Boyd and Tim May will be officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Parlee Price; father, Henry Price; 7 brothers and sisters; her husband, James Montgomery; and granddaughter, Leigh Ann Montgomery.

Carrie is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Ginger) Johnson, and husband Jerry Johnson, of Fleetwood, Alabama; son, Tim Montgomery and wife Wendi Montgomery, of Peterson, Alabama; grandchildren, Heather Haas and husband Brandon, Haley Johnson, and Brody Curlee; great grandchildren, Alayna Haas, Oliver Haas, and Athena Johnson.

Carrie "Mawmaw" was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, whose greatest joy in life was her family. Especially her "babies" (grand and great grandchildren), who were truly her whole world. Her family was her greatest priority, and she gave them everything she had without hesitation. She was the center at which her family gathered. Held together by her love, the glue that held everyone together. She was a mamaw to many, extending her love far beyond her own grandchildren, and she was a loyal friend to countless others. She retired from Black Warrior Methane / Brookwood Oil Fields Service after 35+ years. A job she cherished deeply and where she built lasting friendships with the people she work alongside.

She loved Alabama football and could be found cheering on nearly and sport played at the University of Alabama. (Roll Tide)

She had a gift for cooking, and everyone who tasted her food knew it was made with love. Her home was a place of comfort, where she shared not only food, but also love, laughter, and made many memories.

Carrie's life was a reflection of devotion to her family and friends. She will be remembered for the love, laughter and comfort she gave so freely.

Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Serving as pallbearers will be the men of Black Warrior Methane and Brookwood Oil Field Service. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Ahmed and his team, Dr. Player and all of the nurses and PCT's in ICU at UAB Medical West.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Youth Group at Freedom Church; https://freedomchurchcottondale.breezechms.com/give/online
