Carrie Ybarra, 83, of Junction, Texas passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, September 8, 2023, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas.
She was born January 22, 1940, in Junction, Texas, to Junita Maria Murillo and Virgule Procoro Funtes. Carrie married Fernando Ybarra in Junction, Texas in 1955. Together they had 9 children, Elsa Medina, Homer Ybarra, Armando Ybarra, Fernando Ybarra, Rolando Ybarra Sr., Elizabeth Ruiz, Edna Martinez, Hector Ybarra, and Richard Ybarra. In 1965 the family moved to Fort Stockton, Texas.
Carrie Ybarra was employed at Comanche Springs Nursing home in Fort Stockton, Texas as a CNA for 16 years. After retiring from the nursing home, she worked as a private caregiver for many years. Family is what meant most to her. Carrie Ybarra was famous for her cooking, as she enjoyed cooking for her family. Carrie Ybarra was a member of the Church of Christ. Carrie was a three-generation grandmother. Carrie Ybarra was truly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fernando Ybarra, her sons, Homer Ybarra, Armando Ybarra and Rolando Ybarra Sr., as well as her parents and siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Elsa Medina, Elizabeth Ruiz, Edna Martinez; sons, Fernando Ybarra, Hector Ybarra and Richard Ybarra. Carrie is also survived by three generations of grandkids.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel with Daryle Scott of Fort Stockton Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at NE Junction Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 5-7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Kimble Funeral Home.
