Carroll Compton Obituary
Born in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Thomas Harrell Compton and Mary Sue Medlin Compton. Carroll was a retired General Manager from Simon Properties and oversaw operations of the Haywood Mall in Greenville SC during its grand and successful years. Carroll was an avid angler in his past and enjoyed many trips to his favorite camping spot at Lake Russell. Following retirement, he enjoyed playing golf at Saluda Valley with his friends. Carroll never met a stranger. His humor and contagious laughter will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his daughter Angela Vinson; son Joshua Compton (Amanda); grandchildren Kendall Vong (Sothea), Blaine Vinson II, Cash Compton, and Emery Compton; brother Roger Compton (Velma); sister Lora Ann Compton; many beloved cousins and two special nieces, Kim and Kasey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Thomas Compton.
Carroll's children would like to thank our sweet cousin, Sulynn Bannister, for all her time, attention, and care to dad over the past year. The family would also like to thank Carol Ann Compton, Carroll's former wife, for her continued love, encouragement, and deeply profound friendship with Carroll.
In accordance with Carroll's wishes, no services will be held.
