Rita King Obituary
Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Maggie Patterson. She worked at True Temper for a number of years and later at Anderson Memorial Hospital as a switchboard operator. She was a member of Midway Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her son Hew King and wife Ann; grandson Matt King and wife Mary Chamblee; granddaughter Chandler King; great grandchildren Violet Branham and Hewlett King; sisters Tina Hopkins and Louise Crocker; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers James, Leonard, and Eddie Patterson.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, at Midway Presbyterian Church conducted by Elizabeth Jones CRE. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621, or Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 285, Anderson, SC 29622.
