Carroll W. Eustis, age 84, died on January 27, 2025, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital, Irving TX.
Carroll was born on May 5, 1940, in Brownwood, Texas and moved to San Angelo, Texas shortly thereafter. He grew up in San Angelo and graduated from San Angelo High School in May 1958 and attended some college there. He then married and had two children: Clint Warren Eustis, who preceded him in death at the age of 5, and Christine Diane Lott, Dallas TX and owner of the Dream Café.
Carroll worked for the San Angelo Standard Times newspaper before moving to Wichita Falls TX and worked for the Times Record News for approximately 28 years in the newspaper industry.
He then moved to Dallas where he worked for Fasson Avery Dennison Paper Company for over 25 years before his retirement. After retiring, Carroll kept busy with various part-time jobs working in warehouses, providing security as a security guard and crossing guard for the Irving Independent School District for 8 years.
Carroll met the love of his life, Carol, or 'Lady Carol' in 1988. They were married on October 10, 1992, and were fortunate enough to spend 35 years together before Carol's passing on November 3, 2023.
Carroll was a member of the Irving Elks Lodge for 48 years, where he served in multiple positions, including being a softball coach for over 12 years.
He is survived by two sisters, Jan Ryals of San Angelo TX, and Maureen Harris of Grand Prairie TX; a brother, Steve Eustis of San Angelo, TX; his daughter, Christine Lott and grandson, Weslyn Lott of Dallas TX.
Carroll loved baseball, golf, bowling, and watching football.
Carroll said "Remember me like Don Meredith sang on Monday night football – Turn out the lights, the party's over. They say that all good things must end."
