Carroll Wayne Jungmann, age 86, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cameron, Texas, on September 22, 1939, he was the son of Robert and Martha (Galler) Jungmann.
Carroll graduated from C.H. Yoe High School in Cameron and married the love of his life, Peggy Inge, in 1959. Together, they shared over 66 wonderful years of marriage. Carroll dedicated his career to the energy industry, working at Texas Power & Light in Temple, IGC in Rockdale, Dallas Power & Light, and ultimately retiring from TXU in Dallas.
In 1972, Carroll and Peggy moved their family from Dallas to Allen, Texas, seeking the best community to raise their three children. Carroll was deeply involved in youth sports, coaching baseball and football for his sons, and took great joy in watching his granddaughter Kara play soccer. Carroll also spent time giving back to the FFA program at Allen High School and he was awarded an Honorary FFA Legacy Award. He and Peggy were proud legacy season ticket holders at Eagle Stadium in Allen for many years. In his later years, Carroll cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Jungmann of Allen, Texas; siblings Arvell and Elizabeth of Cameron, Texas; sister-in-law Ginger Jungmann of Flower Mound, Texas; children Diane and William VanHorn of St. Paul, Dr. Doug and Suzy Jungmann of Granbury, Texas, and Derick and Jan Jungmann of Allen, Texas; grandchildren Kara and Dr. Toby Wallis, Mark and Morgan Jungmann, Dr. Matthew Jungmann and his girlfriend Kristin Corley, TJ Tankersley, Andy and Karin VanHorn; great-grandchildren Colin, Kaiden, Kolt, Carrick, Tobynn, Hannah, Sarah, Cambridge, and Delaney; and great-great-grandchildren Ryan and Carter.
Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Martha Jungmann; brothers Larry and Ben Jungmann; and nephew Layne Jungmann.
