Carroll Kida Obituary
1941 - 2026
Chester
Carroll J. Kida passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026. Born on June 17, 1941, in Chicopee, he was the son of Joseph and Emily (Pieciak) Kida.
After high school, Carroll proudly served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He worked as a skilled welder and mechanic for many local companies, including LEGO, and created metal artwork at his Chester home, including the gates at St. Thomas Cemetery in Huntington.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sharon; his children, Suzanne (Keith) Laporte and Bozena (Jeremy) Oliver; his grandchildren, Alex (Mollie), Ava, Annette Laporte, Wyatt and Dahlia Oliver; and his sisters, Ursula Smith, Gail Slaimen, and Christine (Joe) Paulo. He was predeceased by his daughter, Ashleigh Dunton.
Services will be held in the spring at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. AgaweamFH.com

Carroll was a great friend. My wife Donna-Lee and I worked closely with he and Sharon for years as members of Crankers Antique Car Club, a non-profit charity organization.
Carroll and Sharon selflessly devoted their time and energy to fundraisers for a variety of community causes. We enjoyed numerous club activities and other social events over the years.
Together, they were a powerful and positive influence on their friends and to the community. Carroll was a resourceful character indeed.
Carroll was a genuinely good person, and we all consider ourselves privileged to have been touched by his friendship and unique sense of humor.
My condolences to Sharon and the rest of his family.

Carol was a great friend and mentor to me. He was even my barber six or seven years old. He taught me so much about fishing and metal work and many other things. I will treasure the memories. Sharon, I will pray for all of you, and especially for Carol.

So sorry to hear of Carroll´s passing. Your family were good neighbors when we owned the store. I used to enjoy Carroll´s visits. He would plant something for me and then I would kill it. I will pray for him.
