Cary Dale Moss was born at a very young age on December 19, 1947 to Roy Lee and Pearl Moss in Monahans, Tx. He married the absolute love of his life Diana Kay Beaty on August 23, 1969. They went on to grow their family with their 3 amazing children; Tracy Dawn, Clayton Derek & Jessica Renee (Tresica or the Number 1's). Some of our favorite times were spent with him sipping on Tecate while listening to his stories, the man could tell a story & after hearing some you wonder how he lived to be an old man. Much to his daughters dismay he taught his grandkids "you don't need a napkin if you have long pants on" We are still fighting that lesson with one (Button). He lived a wonderful life embracing all who entered his world. He gave the best bear hugs, folded you right up in his arms. Was never afraid to tell you just what he thought; good or bad; you see what you get. And loved with his big, giant heart. He would have been voting for a felon in November. He had jokes; good, questionable but his favorite and most memorable was "Did you hear about the man who walked into the bar? He said OUCH"
He is survived by his wife of 54 years and 10 months, Diana. His loving dog, Oliver Wendall Douglas Moss & cat, Stormy. Tracy, husband Brad (Mr Fielder); Tristan (T Man); wife Haley; Trace (Button); Steely (Steel Baby). Clay (Bubba). Jessica, husband James; Quinton (Q); Avery (Girlfriend); Laney (Laney Bug), Harley, Kendall. Also our bro Mike Smith, the 25%~50%er (Mikey). His brother Roy Lee, wife Barbara. His sister Linda, husband Steven. Brother in law, Tim Beaty, wife Nancy. And many, many nieces, nephews, cousins.
He was met at the pearly gates by his momma, poppa, Smokey dog, his best friend Ronald, his in-laws and many other loves ones.
He will always be remembered as our Fluffy Turtle, slow and steady.
Mr. Cary, Dad, Papaw, Fluffy Turtle, Brother, Uncle, Poppa to all who needed one. Your absence is profoundly felt and if you could see the outpouring of love for you and your family you would say you don't deserve it but we do. But you do daddy you do.
Viewing/Memorial will be held at Saturday June 29, 2024 from 1 - 5 pm at Shaffer Funeral Home.
1939 Sherwood Way

Diana, Tracy, Clay, Jessica & Family

Remember all the fun times we had together traveling and watching Jessica & Kim play softball and basketball. Cary & Diana were great neighbors to have in Midland. I am so sorry for your loss. May you feel God´s presence in this time of healing.

There are so many great moments with PAPA MOSS!! every time I´ve ever had a chance to be around papa he always made it memorable. But when you were to leave, he always gave you a big hug and told you loved you. I´ve never met anyone that didn´t like him and didn´t love being around him.. You´re gonna be majorly missed. RIP PAPA

To the Moss family we send our love. To a man that was truly happy His heart and soul was to no scale. Definitely a one of a kind. No matter who you were and what your story he passed no judgement. He opened his home and all he could to whomever needed it. His passion was simple
love big and stay humble. From your contagious smile to your larger than life personality as well as the love for your family, it truly was a pleasure knowing you. I pray for peace and love to all that are hurting. You had a great run and we thank you for spreading the love to us all. Our deepest condolences.
Much love to you all

Cary Dale was the best cousin ever. I love and cherish every memory of him. I so look forward to meet him and his mom and dad in heaven. We shared the best family ever in the whole wide world. I loved playing "hide the belt" with him and Roy Lee. Poor Aunt Pearl probably never did find all her belts! I miss him, just knowing he is not there.
