Caryl Kligfeld

KLIGFELD, Caryl With shock, with tremendous sadness and with great love for our matriarch, we announce the death of Caryl Kligfeld of Canton, MA, formerly of Woodbridge, CT, at the age of 83, on December 8, 2025.

Our beloved mother and grandmother lived a life of meaning, purpose, devotion to her family above else, devotion to the land, state and people of Israel, and in such a way that hundreds of people beyond her family tree felt truly a part of her clan. She was hospitable, brilliant and ever-curious, gritty and iron-willed, and tremendously loving and generous.

She had been looking forward to, and truly expecting, a ninth decade of life, love and adventure after mourning her husband, our beloved father and grandfather, Dr. Michael Kligfeld. She was robbed of those years and experiences she and we deserved, and we are left bereft of her and all that ought to have been. Her home was home to so many. Her loss creates a vacuum impossible to fill. Her life-force was powerful. May we dedicate our lives to her memory and spirit with equal power.

Caryl is survived by her children, Dr. Jennifer (Steven) Novick and Rabbi Adam (Havi) Kligfeld; and grandchildren, Noa (Ethan), Yael, Ayden, Hadass, Dafna, and Lev.

Funeral was held at the Robert E. Shure and Son Funeral Home, NEW HAVEN, CT, and she was Buried at Sharon Gardens, Valhalla, NY. Shiva information available upon request. Contributions in Caryl's memory can be made to the Friends of Magen David Adom, the Friends of the IDF or Dana Farber.
