Casey Alexander Kahl, 25 of Mason, Ohio passed away on December 25, 2025. Casey is the beloved son of Jim and Karen Kahl.
Casey’s smile and vibrant personality lit up every room. He carried a light with him that was felt by everyone the moment he arrived. His rare compassion and genuine empathy touched countless lives. He attended Mason Schools K-12 and graduated in 2018.
Casey loved all sports and found joy in cheering, playing, and sharing in the excitement they brought. He played baseball early in life and enjoyed cheering on the Cincinnati Reds. Later, he discovered great happiness and confidence through his involvement in TopSoccer. Casey was a devoted supporter of Mason High School Football, and was proudly welcomed as an honorary team member. He found great joy in being part of the locker room moments and sideline action. He was also a loyal fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, the Dallas Cowboys, and the MSU Bulldogs, faithfully following their seasons and celebrating their victories. Casey also enjoyed watching hockey and especially loved listening to stories about his dad skating on the ice.
Casey had a deep love for animals and grew up with his beloved golden retriever, Rudy. Casey especially cherished spending time with his mom going on nature walks and with his dad feeding the backyard visitors like squirrels, birds, chipmunks, and many other animals that wandered by. He also loved books and movies, including Harry Potter, enjoyed music, collected Pokemon and baseball cards, and spent many happy hours playing video games like Mario Kart with his dad, cousins, and nana. He loved road trips, especially those that included Brad Paisley concerts and travels to Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, and Boston.
Above all else, Casey’s greatest love was the people around him. He was surrounded by so many wonderful individuals throughout his journey—a true testament to the love he gave and the love he received. He especially loved spending time with his cousins and grandparents and was blessed with many sweet friends, devoted teachers, and compassionate caretakers. Casey was deeply loved by many. He was extraordinarily brave and never stopped fighting, leaving behind a legacy of courage, kindness, and love that will forever be remembered.
Casey was predeceased by his grandparents Dr. James and Jane Kahl. He is survived by his loving family; parents Jim and Karen, grandparents Dr. Cliff and Vondell George and Grace Hahn Kahl; aunts and uncles: Kris and Burn Kenyon; Harold and Kristine Kahl, Sandra and Ben Loftis, and Patti and Eddie Permenter; cousins: Nick and Emily Kenyon, Carson and Tessa Loftis and Wil, Chris and Asher Permenter, and Harmon Kahl.
