Casey Lalum

It is with heavy hearts we announce that Casey Lalum, 49, passed away Monday, October 20, 2025.
The son of Carroll and Kathleen Lalum, Casey was born on January 29, 1976, in Devils Lake, ND. He grew up on a farm near Minnewaukan, ND. He was a confirmed member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Minnewaukan.
Casey graduated from Minnewaukan Public School in 1994. He was a three-sport athlete, excelling in basketball, football and baseball. He was recognized as an All-State football tight end his senior year. He also did well academically. Casey was the starting tight end at Dickinson State University for four years.
After college, Casey moved to Kenmare to work and coach football. He moved on to work for Sun Prairie Grain in Bowbells, ND, for several years. For the past 14 years, he was employed at AG Country Farm Credit Services and was currently a regional Vice President covering the Northwest Region for the company.
Hunting was his passion. He hunted on the farm where he grew up. He also was grateful for the landowners in the Burke County area, that allowed him to hunt on their properties. Bear hunting trips to Canada with his friends was his idea of a vacation. Fishing for walleye was often a family event.
Casey experienced great tragedies during his time with us. These experiences helped him to appreciate and value the many wonderful events that life brought him.
Casey met Sherry Evenson during his freshman years in college. They were married June 2, 2006, in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. Sherry was often his hunting and fishing companion, enjoying so many of the same things as Casey. Casey and Sherry were the parents of two amazing children, Cannen and Finley. Sherry passed away on June 16, 2024.
Left behind to carry on his memory are his son, Cannen; daughter, Finley; mother, Kathleen Lalum; uncle, Pat Feist; cousin, Amber Feist; father and mother-in-law, Ken and Linda Evenson; brother-in-law, Chris (Amanda) Evenson; niece and nephews, Kallee Evenson, Nathan Evenson, Damion Higgins;
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry; father, Carroll Lalum; brother, Anthony Lalum; aunt, Mary Feist; cousin, Cody Feist; maternal grandparents, Andy and Rita Feist; paternal grandparents, Chester and Ella Lalum.
Memorial Service: Tuesday, October 28, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at the Bowbells High School Gymnasium. Signing of the guest register will take place one hour prior to the service at the school.
Interment: St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Minnewaukan, ND. Burial will take place at a later date.
