Casey Marlnee Obituary
Casey grew up in Leon and graduated with the Leon High School Class of 1970. She went on to attend classes at Butler Community College, continuing her education close to home.
On March 14, 1970, Casey married John Marlnee in Parsons, Kansas. Together they shared a life rooted in family, hard work, and the simple joys she cherished most.
Casey had a deep love for horses and found great happiness in riding and showing them. She also enjoyed gardening, tending to flowers, painting, and spending quiet time reading. These passions reflected her patient, creative, and gentle spirit.
Casey will be remembered for her love of nature, her artistic talents, and the care she showed through the things she created and nurtured throughout her life.
Casey will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, John Marlnee, of Leon; her children, Richard Marlnee, of Leon, and Shawna (Sam) Sooter, of Leon; her grandchildren, Samantha, Skyler, Jake, Cassidy, Jayden, Dallin, Montana, Lucas, Michael, Stetson, Dakota, and Andrea; many great-grandchildren, and her beloved little dog, Cocoa.
Casey was preceded in passing by her parents, her son, John Michael Marlnee, her grandson, Remington, and her brothers, Jack and Larry Richardson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30th, 2025, at Carlson Funeral Home, from 5-7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 31st, 2025, at Carlson Funeral Home, at 2:00 PM. Casey will be laid to rest at Leon Cemetery immediately following the service.
Memorial donations in her name may be directed towards The American Quarter Horse Association.
