Freda Belle Groves, 94, of El Dorado, Kansas, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026.
Freda was born on January 13, 1932, in rural Lebanon, Kansas, the daughter of Faye and Ethel (Grewell) Upp. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1950. On June 4, 1950, she was united in marriage to Enos Groves, and together they shared a devoted life of family, faith, and service.
Freda was the owner and operator of the Pour House of Ceramics, where her creativity and craftsmanship were well known and appreciated. She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church in El Dorado since 1961. A talented seamstress, Freda lovingly made all of her daughters' clothing when they were young. She and Enos also coached their daughters' softball teams, always cheering them on with pride. Freda was a very crafty person who enjoyed creating with her hands and sharing her talents with others.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Kent) Burk, Ronda Willard, and Gale (Chuck) Ray; grandchildren, Scott (Jenn) Hutson, Erin (Renee) Burk, Jason Burk, Robyn (Juston) Seglem, Justin (Bobbi) Nash, Damien (Jenny) Ray, and Kylie (Josh) Williams; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Enos Groves; and her siblings, Randall Upp, Elna Basford, Merna Fricker, Margaret Windscheffel, Arline Chamberlain, and her twin sister, Veda Upp.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Trinity United Methodist Church. Friends may gather with the family on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home.
