CORDELE - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Casey L. Tyson, 83, who died on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus. Graveside services to honor his life will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Arabi Cemetery. Prior to the service, the family will be receiving friends at Hughes and Wright Funeral Home starting at 3 p.m.
Casey was born in Cordele, Georgia to the late Casey Tyson and the late Frances Collins Tyson. He is also preceded in death by a son, Casey Brian Tyson and a brother, Hance Clary Tyson. During his working years, he was a machine shop foreman for Harris Press for 43 years. Casey was a Veteran of the United States Army and of the Baptist faith.
Casey is survived by his wife, Faye Yulaine Black Tyson of Cordele; his sons: Nathan Tyson, Jason Tyson, and Casey Tyson all of Cordele; his sisters: Emily Tyson of Tifton and Kay Sutton and her husband Dan of Valdosta; his sisters-in-law: Margie Tyson of Cordele and Angela Cape and her husband Jackie of Albany, Ga.; a brother in law, Melvin Black of Cordele, several nieces and nephews, and his fur babies: Skippy, Jack, Ollie, and Ruby.
