Casey Bruin Wall born October 20, 1931 in Atlanta, Texas to the late Thomas and Janie Pauline Casey Wall. He passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024 at the age of 92 in Athens, Texas. He had been a resident of Athens for many years, previously living in Tool.
Casey was raised in a Methodist home in Waco, TX and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1949. He joined the Marine Corp in 1950, serving in the Korean War from 1950 to 1954, where he was a Sergeant, 1st Marines, 2nd Battalion Charlie Company. He was a forward observer in communications, running telephone wire from the front to the end for mortars.
Casey had a long successful career at Freeman where he held several positions from the carpenter shop to sales department. Sales was his passion. He was in charge of setting up trade shows, conventions and corporate events locally and across the country for his clients. Served as a member of the Freeman Board of Directors for many years. He was presented the Buck Freeman Award in 1977 which is Freeman's highest honor. He retired as National Sales Manager after 33 years of service. He was also a member of the Methodist church, VFW 4376, and the Parrot Head Club.
Casey married Catherine (Cay) Hensley on Valentine's Day 1997 and resided at Cedar Creek Lake for most of their years together. Enjoyed being outdoors, living the lake life and traveling. South Padre Island was his favorite place to visit. An avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. Loved to golf, fish, travel, and serve the community. Casey never met a stranger and loved to tell a story. He touched a lot of lives in many different ways throughout his lifetime.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Catherine Wall of Athens; children and their spouses, Steven & Martha Wall, Brenda & Russell Dennis, Paula & Phillip Arden, Rick & Rhonda Hensley, Cari & David Goodrich, and Kelli & Raul Serna; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Wall; mother, Pauline Casey Barrick; sisters, Thelmarie Wilhite, Tommie Jean Hollaran, and Martha Ann Gillispie; and brother, Kenneth Wall.
Celebration of Life Event will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at VFW Post 4376 of Seven Points, 209 Veterans Lane, Kemp, Texas 75143.
If desired, memorials may be made to Methodist Childrens Home in Waco, VFW Post 4376, or the Alzheimer's Association.
