Irma Sue Wall, age 85, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, VA. Born July 13, 1940, in Bozoo, WV, she was the daughter of the late George Albert and Beulah Ann Martin Chandler.

In addition to her parents, Irma was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Wayne Chandler; grandparents, Lester Norman Chandler and Nina Jane Wright, William Wilson Martin and Gyrtha Ann Baker; her first husband, Thomas Bennett Skelton; and her second husband, James Royal Wall.

Irma was a homemaker whose hobbies included cooking, needle craft, and bluegrass music. She was a 1958 graduate of Peterstown High School. She was a member of the Lord's Church, attended Peterstown Christian Church and Bozoo Christian Church for worship and fellowship with those of like precious faith. Additionally, she was a charter member of the Appalachian Highlands Music Association. Irma hopes her name will be carved on the hearts of others, not just on her stone.

Survivors include her children, Gary Bennett "Benny" Skelton, Aleta Marie Nelson, Randy Wall and wife Drema, Pamela Kaye Ellison; grandchildren, Ricky Wells Jr., Amanda Sue Wells, Vince Nelson Jr., Gladys Nelson, Latica Nelson, Krista Archer and husband Michael, Jason Wall and wife Holly, Rebecca Bowles, Jeremiah Ellison, and Courtney and Whitney Skelton; several great grandchildren; brother, Albert Lloyd Chandler; sister-in-law, Brenda Chandler; nieces, Shelia Renee Chandler, Susan Lynn Dowd, Janet McGhee, and Karen Jones; nephews, Steven Blake Chandler and wife Cindy, Carl McGhee, and Charles McGhee; several more nieces and nephews; and special friends, Joyce Martin and Marsha Farley.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Terry Kornegay officiating. Friends may call from 12:00PM until time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV.
