Cassandra LaRae Christensen, 78, of Eagan, MN passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024. Cassie was born on March 1st, 1946, in Minneapolis, MN, to Casmer and Agnes (Olson) Janikowski. Her family lived in St. Louis Park, MN, where she graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 1964. She went on to attend Augsburg College. Cassandra married Richard Dean Christensen on March 23rd, 1984. They welcomed Bailey (1987) and Corey (1988).
Preceded in death by parents Casmer & Agnes Janikowski, sister Raleigh (Robert) Rauner, and brothers Cleon (Geraldine) Janikowski, DeLoure (Barbara) Janikowski, Darryl Janikowski, nieces Lori Peper-Rucks and Jan Foure; sister-in-law Jude Brase.
Remaining to cherish Cassie Christensen's memory are husband Richard; children, Corey Christensen and Bailey Halverson; grandchildren, Claira Jae Balzer, Eliza Balzer, and Penelope Balzer; sister-in-law Vera Janikowski, Diane ( David) Miller, Pat (Al) Melin, Kellie (Trish) Christensen; nieces and nephews Dave (Sally) Janikowski, Cheryl Smith, Dana (Dennis) Nystrom, Randy (Cindy) Janikowski, Jonanne (Don) Van Vorst, Mike (Diane) Janikowski, Michele (Steve) Pieraccini, Debbie (Steve) Blake, Nick (Liron) Brase, Nate (Jane) Brase, and Jessica ( Jason) Rasch, Kerri (Thomas) Flanagan, Catherine (David) Jensen, Kris Fritze, Connie (Richard) Barnes; brother-in-law Thomas Brase; relatives and friends.
Cassie cherished family and friends and loved music, having been a member of the Westwood Lutheran Church Choir in St. Louis Park, MN as a youth, and with an association of 20+ years with the Minnesota Boychoir.
Visitation will be held October 23rd, 2024 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Washburn-McReavy Nokomis Park Chapel. Funeral service will be held October 24th at 11:00 am at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Saint Paul, MN. A private livestreaming link will be provided later. Memorial donations can be made to one of Cassie's favorite organizations: Minnesota Boychoir.
