Cassandra Cooper Obituary

Cassandra "Cas" Cooper

August 2, 1960 - July 8, 2025

Cassandra "Cas" Cooper, 64, of Corvallis, Oregon, passed away on July 8, 2025, surrounded by family in the comfort of her home. Cassandra was born in Dallas, Oregon on August 2, 1960, to Gilman and Lois (Franklin) Fennimore. She grew up in Valsetz, Oregon, and graduated from Valsetz High School in 1978. Cas attended Oregon State University for two years before receiving her training and certification as a Radiologic Technologist from Albany General Hospital. She retired in 2013 after a fulfilling 32 years.

Cassandra married Rand Cooper on November 20, 1982. They raised two children and built a beautiful life together in Corvallis. Cas will be remembered as a generous and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She spent her free time running long distances, cooking gourmet meals, and practicing yoga. Her witty sense of humor brought a smile to everyone's face, and she always celebrated those around her with special attention and care. Cas was a long-time parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Her faith inspired a devotion to serving those in need. She volunteered at Stone Soup Corvallis for over 30 years.

Cas was a woman of action. She lived to serve others and spread joy wherever she went. May her memory be an inspiration to serve selflessly, live nobly, and labor in love.

Cassandra was preceded in death by parents, Gilman and Lois Fennimore.

Cassandra is survived by her husband of 42 years, Rand Cooper; daughter, Kellyn (Brian) Freeman; son, Wil Cooper; grandchildren, Isabelle, Maia, and Preston; siblings, Charmaine (Joel) Abrams, Joe (Lorrie) Fennimore; along with nieces, nephews; and a host of long-time friends and family.

A funeral mass will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church on July 18th, with a rosary beginning at 10:30 am, and mass at 11 am. A reception will follow on July 19th at Trysting Tree at 5 pm. McHenry Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Lumina Hospice or Stone Soup Corvallis in Cassandra's name.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Cass' passing. Our boys, Josh and Wil, grew up together beginning at Inavale School and on through high school. I always enjoyed seeing her while we volunteered at Adams School together.
We are so sorry for your loss.
