Cassandra "Cassie" Elaine (Reinhart) Goldstein passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 2023, at the age of 76. She was a longtime resident of Indianapolis,IN and was surrounded, as she was in life, by the love, admiration, and gratitude of her family and close friends.
Cassie was born in Peoria, IL and later moved to Niles Michigan. She attended Western Michigan University, in Kalamazoo, Michigan where she studied music education and enjoyed performing in musicals and plays as she had in high school.
In 1972, Cassie married Sidney Goldstein, whose memory she cherished after his passing in 2012.
In her professional life, Cassie taught music in Niles Michigan public school(s) and The Orchard School in Indianapolis. Cassie spent many years as an administrative assistant for the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis. From 1999 – 2009, Cassie worked for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO). Cassie was an Executive Assistant to the CEO as well as personal assistant to several Maestros, including Raymond Leppard and Mario Venzago. From 2010-2015 Cassie worked for the American Pianists Association (APA) as an Executive Assistant to young musicians. Cassie founded Cassandra LLC and worked as a Personal Assistant to several artists until retiring.
Cassie was a devoted member of Congregation Beth-El Zedeck. She was a longtime volunteer in the gift shop, the choir, and taught music in religious school. Cassie served two terms as President of Hadassah and one term as Vice President of Sisterhood at Congregation Beth-El Zedeck.
In 2014, Cassie married Dr. Lawrence Goldblatt, who wholeheartedly served as her devoted partner and caregiver offering unwavering support throughout her journey until her passing.
Cassie's unwavering commitment and love for her family shine through in those she leaves behind. Her legacy of love and devotion extends to her beloved husband, Larry Goldblatt; her cherished children: Joscelyn (Colin) Moore, Elise Carpenter, Tiffany Woods, Seth (Dalhia) Goldstein, Jacob (Jacqueline) Goldstein; her dear siblings: Denise (George) Small, Char-Lene (Richard) Wilkins, Reffett (Becky) Reinhart and her 17 adored grandchildren/step-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Beth-El Zedeck, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO), or American Pianists Association (APA).
Funeral Services will be at 11am on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Congregation Beth-El Zedeck, 600 W. 70th Street, to watch the funeral via livestream please click here. Burial will follow at Beth-El North Cemetery. Shiva will be held on Wednesday, September 6, and Thursday, September 7, from 4 - 8 pm.
