Cassandra Jo Hembling

Cassandra Jo Hembling passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the age of 43 years. She was dedicated to the Lord by her parents on February 7, 1982, and re-baptized November 24, 2024, as she made her proclamation of faith in Jesus. She graduated from Vassar High School and continued studies at Kalamazoo Community College, as well as Mott Community College. She worked her way to restaurant management. Leaving to try other vocations she decided that the restaurant industry was where she had her expertise through experience. She enjoyed meeting and interacting with people. She loved singing and dancing, which started at an early age with watching musicals like My Fair Lady, Mary Poppins and White Christmas and many more. She could be found dancing and singing in the kitchen with her mom as she asked her mom to dip her. She was a fierce debater often challenging her dad about politics and religion. She was passionate about the state of our nation and its narrative that, in her opinion, was shaped by the media instead of seekers of truth. She wrote in her journal that God is love and His love was the answer to end the hate in our world. She enjoyed shopping in thrift stores and wearing expressive eyeglasses. She was a rescuer of people and dogs always ready to stand up for both. She knew how to love and laugh and make you laugh. Kayaking on the Cass River and enjoying nature or just sitting on its bank was her peaceful place.
She is survived by, forever loved and missed by her parents Joe and Faye Hembling, her sister Danielle Hembling (finance Chad Dutcher), her niece Taylor Worth, her nephew Marcus McGeshick, half-sister Lisa Czostkowski, nephews RJ Montgomery and Anthony Montgomery and great niece Denver Mongomery and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins whom she loved so much and shared special times. Nicole Kittner, Stefanie Whittaker, Tammy Underwood, and Tracie Millner, her cousins with whom she had a kindred spirit. Her high school friends for life that she loved dearly Kate, Courtney, Nicole H., Nicole L., and Natalie. Her friend, Nikki.
A Celebration of Life will be at 12 noon on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the Calvary Chapel Fellowship, 7501 Frankenmuth Rd – Vassar, Michigan 48768. Pastor Curt Lapham officiating. The family will greet friends at the church on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mid-Michigan Adult & Teen Challenge, 818 S. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, MI 48602.
