Cassandra Reckus Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Allentown Funeral & Cremations Services, LLC on Feb. 13, 2026.
Cassandra Tanya Reckus (Zettlemoyer), 78, passed away peacefully in Allentown on January 29, 2026.

Born on July 22, 1947, in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Pearl L. Bradford and Herbert A. Zettlemoyer, Jr.

Cassandra lived a quiet and gentle life, marked by deep devotion to those she loved. For over 40 years, she shared her life with David Christ, who preceded her in death in June 2023.

She dedicated many years of her career as a medical records secretary at Allentown State Hospital, where she built many meaningful friendships that remained important to her throughout her life.

Cassandra had a tender heart, especially for animals, and found joy in the simple comforts of home. She enjoyed her collection of cookbooks and cherished her family photographs. Nothing brought her greater happiness than her granddaughters. She proudly displayed their artwork throughout her home, keeping each piece as a treasured reminder of the love they shared.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Maria Petti (Reckus), whom she lovingly referred to as "her heart"; Garrett Petti, son-in-law, who held a special place in her heart and always brought a smile to her face; her cherished granddaughters, Adrielle S. Petti and Ailyn S. Petti, who were the light of her life; and Heather Christ and Meghan Christ, daughters of David Christ, who shared in her life for over four decades and were part of her extended family.

Her gentle spirit and quiet strength will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held privately on April 12, 2026. Those wishing to attend may contact the family for details.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association to support dementia research and care.
