The Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Cassandra "Mookie" Wilder of Montezuma, Georgia will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 8620 Hwy 26E, Montezuma, Georgia.

Cassandra Denise Wilder, aka Mookie, was born on June 16, 1964, to the late George Hughey and Lola B. Fulks James. Cassandra attended D.F. Douglass High School and graduated from Macon County High School in the Class of 1982.

Cassandra was a hardworking and dedicated woman. She was employed with Middle Flint Council on Aging for over thirty years, where she served as Manager of the Riverview Senior Center in Oglethorpe, Georgia. Cassandra loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She also enjoyed going shopping.

On December 29, 2025, Cassandra departed this earthly life at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia. She leaves precious memories to be cherished by her mother, Lola B. James (Earl) of Dooling, Georgia; a loving and devoted husband of twenty-seven years, John L. Wilder, aka Wildman, of Montezuma, Georgia; a loving brother, Glenn Hughey (Julia) of Atlanta, Georgia; two beautiful daughters: LaTasha Adams of Montezuma, Georgia and Canieshua Parker of Oglethorpe, Georgia; a stepson, Cardaro Griffin of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren: Shi'Niya McDonald, Jeromercia Griffin, Markel McDonald, Kameria Wynn, Mikeria Parker, Kaisley Parker, and E'Lora Rogers; one great-grandson, Jayson Ace Banks; a loving sister-in-law, Shirley Kendrick; a host of other relatives and friends.
