Cassie Green, 68, of Haines City, FL, passed away on March 22, 2025, in Winter Haven, FL. She was born on March 14, 1957, in Compton, CA, to James Claude Sr. and Ethel Hill Smith. Cassie proudly served our country in the US Air Force and received an honorable discharge. In 2017, she relocated to Florida from Fruitport, MI. Despite her disability, she remained active in her community and was a devoted member of St. Ann Catholic Church, where she also sang in the choir.
Cassie had a deep passion for reading, collecting angels, and listening to a wide variety of music. She cherished nature, enjoying walks with her beloved dog Jake, and had a fondness for flowers, birds, and butterflies. In her younger years, Cassie played the violin, showcasing her musical talents.
Known for her kindness and generous spirit, Cassie had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Cassie is preceded in death by her parents, James and Ethel; her sons, Orlando T. Rogers and Anthony L. Sanders; and her brother, James C. Smith Jr. She is survived by her son, Dustin L. Smith; daughter, Coca Chanel Kendra Rogers, as well as her devoted friend, Cheryl (Dave) Gibson.
A funeral mass will be held on April 10, 2025, at 12 pm at St. Ann Catholic Church in Haines City, FL, followed by a military service. The interment of her cremains will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Muskegon, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Wounded Warriors.

Cheryl and Dave...
Duke and I are very saddened to hear of Cassie's passing. She was a lovely person and we will miss seeing her around. Our prayers are with you at this very sad time.
